Emily Dickinson, was one of the for most poets of her time. While she was a bit twisted in the head, or in some peoples opinions "crazy," she was a brilliant "lyric-poet" of her time. While she was an amazingly gifted poet who wrote well over 1,700 poems, she was, in most cases, anti-social. This man you all know through many ways he was the president of the united states, through many of his speeches like the Getty's Burg address, but most of you may know him through his death. while being a president He was assassinated by a man named John Wilkes Booth. He was killed over his beliefs that blacks should not be oppressed by the whits and should be freed from their shackles of slavery. But this doesn't define his importance of this era at least not entirely. This man had some of the most influential speeches everyone remembers the line "four score and seven years ago" he made his importance through his ability to make history.
