Puritan Art
Despite the general strictness of Puritan Religion, there was no clause about paintings, so they were not directly outlawed, alloiwing them to prosper. Due to the general Puritan mindset, however, there was not much time spent on art. Paintings themselves were mainly of Puritan people, to show their involvement in God, and they are portrayed in some highly moral light. They show the objective qualities that every Puritan should strive for, but they still were not common. Small religious decorations were also common in households, as they kept with the relatively simple mindset.
