Types of Literature During the time period
There were many types of literature written during this period, Romanticism is one of the larger subjects, along with the beat generation of poets and authors. There was Non-Fiction, Realistic Fiction, and Science Fiction being produced by such authors as Thomas Pynchon, Stephen King, and. With great Romantic reads such as Jazz Toni Morrison, The English Patient by Michael Ondaatje, and On the Road Again by Jack Kerouac. During the period there was the beat movement, a movement that was very romantic in nature, as it referred to nature and self-awareness. An interesting tidbit about a lot of the beat generation authors, is that they were experimenting with wonderfully tantalizing psychoactive drugs. This made the Beat Generation more frowned upon and the black sheep of literature, but also produced wonderful stories.
