Romanticism Art
Paintings were the main source of art to entice the senses into comprehending the fantasy worlds that was beyond imagination in a time of expansion. Since the Romanticism was during the time of western expansion in America, many paintings were devoted to portraying a strange new world that many on the eastern coast had heard from those who went out to this new land and were often not the most reliable of sources. Using oil paint to create these pieces one would create the landscapes of their self and other’s dreams. With a base similar to surrealism concentrated around the expansion to the west art made its move towards the era of Romanticism. It bordered on the fact of how castly and unpredictable nature can truly be. The cause of a shipwreck at sea and all the people lost is one example.

There's also scenes such as a fire pillaging a town as the people run for cover. Another one of nature's violent acts, even though nature might not have started it. There are beautiful acts as well, things of a lovely ground.
