Revolutionary Art
Paintings
During the 1700’s art changed dramatically. Artists started using new techniques to get their point across the canvas. Artists started using balance, directness, harmony, and realism. They realized that art can have many dimensions and they took real times in history and painted them. Self portraits were very common because of the realism faze. They painted historical figures, presidents, and many other people that would pose in front of a canvas. Artists used balance so that the viewers eyes would travel around the painting and not focus on only one point. Harmony was used so that all elements of the painting worked together to create a masterpiece. Art became so much more than it used to be. It took on a whole new level and became much more realistic. From this point artist have been able to move forward and create even more art forms.
