The Post Modern Era writings focus on the development of the character as an individual and uses writing styles such as parody, irony, and generic mixing. It differs from the modernist style because the writers did not try to conform to popular and established writing techniques. The Postmodernist invented such ideas as decentralization and post-structuralism, which was due to the lack of concern for the traditional way of doing things. The literature from the Postmodern Era was more open minded and more views were presented. There were also more scientific theories and facts presented in the writing during this period.
